After months of drafting our constitution, hair-raising admin, and certifying documents we submitted an appeal to the Department of Social Development to register the Friends of Penhill Conservation Area as a non-profit organisation.
We are excited to announce that we have finally been placed on the register!
Why this is important
Not only does registering as an entity recognised by the South African government bolster our efforts to keep the Conservation Area safe, but we are also able to apply for additional funding in order to do so. In addition, once we attain S18A status, come tax season you can claim back all the income tax paid on amounts you have donated to our cause.
How you can help
Join us as a volunteer on our seed collection and seedling planting walks, and Port Jackson plant removal sessions, or simply contribute a small fee on a monthly basis. Read more here.
On behalf of the FPCA Executive Committee, thank you for your unwavering support.
